STUDENTS - GENERAL INFORMATION

All items shown in blue and underlined represent a link to a document or form.

Looking for a helmet?

Please keep in mind that this is not a racing school but rather a safe, high speed driving school, conducted on a race track under close supervision by experienced instructors. You will learn how to handle and control your vehicle at speeds not normally attained on public roads. This will help to prepare you for emergencies in normal driving. It will also allow you to explore your capabilities as a driver and those of your vehicle.

At no time will you be pushed or encouraged to go any faster than is comfortable for you. All participants will be organized into run groups in accordance with experience, skill, and type of vehicle. Participants not "signed off" will be required to drive with an instructor on board.

The Delaware Valley Chapter has developed a STUDENT HANDBOOK especially designed for the novice student. If you are a new Driver School Participant, we urge you to read this material to familiarize yourself with the program, safety issues and concerns and to obtain a better understanding of our events for your benefit and for the benefit of your fellow participants.

Communication on the track is accomplished by driver hand signals and Flags displayed at the corner Flag Stations. All participants are expected to be familiar with the flags.

In addition to the above there are several TRACK BULLETINS that have been generated to provide you with valuable information about the operation of our events. All Students are responsible to be familiar with this information.

Everyone must read, understand and accept the WAIVER & RELEASE FORM prior to registering to participate in a Delaware Valley Chapter Driver School.

Participation in Delaware Valley Chapter Driver Schools is limited to BMW CCA Members only. JOIN BMWCCA on line or call the National Membership toll free number - 1-800-878-9292.

There is a Pre-Event Technical Inspection that must be completed for the vehicle that you intend to participate with at a Delaware Valley Chapter Driver School. We recommend that you have your vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic no more than 30 days prior to the date of the event. You must present your completed TECH FORM to the tech inspector prior to event registration at the track. (Do not mail your Tech to the registrar.)

EVENT REGISTRATION DETAILS On-line or by mail

Driving event registration will be conducted online through Pukka Software Company. You were recently sent an email from Pukka Software and provided with a username and password. We will also be using this system to communicate electronically with the Student population going forward, so we ask that you log on to www.motorsportreg.com and verify/update your vital information. Once online, you may amend your username and password if you wish to do so and register for events. It is critical that we have a current valid email address for you. Please remember to update your information in the future should there be any changes.

Your event registration is not complete unless you pay. Payment may be accomplished on line via the Pukka Software system by VISA, MASTERCARD or ACH CHECK or you may mail your payment to the registrar after you complete the online registration.

WAIT LIST - Student applications are accepted on a first come, first serve basis, provided all eligibility requirements have been met. There are a limited number of Student spaces available for our events. This number may vary from one venue to another. Additionally - Students are divided by Run Groups (Novice, Intermediate & Advanced) based upon the experience level of the Student. If we receive event applications after a Run Group is full, a Wait List will be created. Wait listed applicants will be accepted on a first cone first serve basis if a vacancy is created due to a cancellation. The event registrar will inform you of your status (confirmed or waitlist) approximately one month before the event.

CANCELLATIONS - Cancellations will be accepted up until approximately two-weeks prior to the date of an event (check the specific cancellation dates in connection with each event). Any cancellation received on or prior to the respective cancellation date will be charged a $25.00 handling fee. Any cancellation following the cancellation date will not be accepted and the entire entry fee will be forfeited. All cancellations must be communicated through the registrar.

INSTRUCTORS

INSTRUCTORS - GENERAL INFO & EVENT REGISTRATION

All items shown in BOLD represent a link to a document or form.

Martin Bullen is continuing as our Instructor Recruitment Chairman. Martin will contact you to confirm your attendance in connection with our events. Please respond to Martin utilizing the INSTRUCTOR SIGN UP FORM.

We have discontinued the use of our Emergency Medical Form. In practice we have found that this form is not used by the EMT's and new Federal Medical Privacy Rules may be difficult to comply with. If you have a medical condition that we should know about, please inform Martin when signing up for an event or contact our Chief Instructor, Michael Dion prior to the date of the event.

There are several TRACK BULLETINS that have been generated to provide you with valuable information about the operation of our events. Our Instructors Students are responsible to be familiar with this information.

Everyone must read, understand and accept the WAIVER & RELEASE FORM prior to registering to participate in a Delaware Valley Chapter Driver School.

Instructors are charged as Event Officials. You are expected to set a proper example for the Students regarding your conduct on and off the track at our events. In addition, we need you to take responsibility for the safety of the event and address any issues that you identify on the spot and also communicate such matters to the event organizers (Event Chairman, Chief Instructor or the Tower Control people on duty). This authority is limited to stopping any un-safe practice, not approving something you find that may be questionable.

It is rather common for Instructors to recommend our events to a friend or enthusiast acquaintance. In this instance we encourage you to review and or direct the prospective Student Participant to our Chapter Website so that the information about our events is accurately conveyed.
