Martin Bullen is continuing as our Instructor Recruitment Chairman. Martin will contact you to confirm your attendance in connection with our events. Please respond to Martin utilizing the INSTRUCTOR SIGN UP FORM.

We have discontinued the use of our Emergency Medical Form. In practice we have found that this form is not used by the EMT's and new Federal Medical Privacy Rules may be difficult to comply with. If you have a medical condition that we should know about, please inform Martin when signing up for an event or contact our Chief Instructor, Michael Dion prior to the date of the event.

There are several track bulletins that have been generated to provide you with valuable information about the operation of our events. Our Instructors Students are responsible to be familiar with this information.

Everyone must read, understand and accept the WAIVER & RELEASE FORM prior to registering to participate in a Delaware Valley Chapter Driver School.

Instructors are charged as Event Officials. You are expected to set a proper example for the Students regarding your conduct on and off the track at our events. In addition, we need you to take responsibility for the safety of the event and address any issues that you identify on the spot and also communicate such matters to the event organizers (Event Chairman, Chief Instructor or the Tower Control people on duty). This authority is limited to stopping any un-safe practice, not approving something you find that may be questionable.

It is rather common for Instructors to recommend our events to a friend or enthusiast acquaintance. In this instance we encourage you to review and or direct the prospective Student Participant to our Chapter Website so that the information about our events is accurately conveyed.

Please review the following information that is applicable to 2008 Delaware Valley Chapter Driver Schools:

  • There is a Pre-Event Technical Inspection that must be completed for the vehicle that you intend to participate with at a Delaware Valley Chapter Driver School. We recommend that you have your vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic no more than 30 days prior to the date of the event. In most cases, Instructors are responsible to Self-Tech their vehicles. There may be exceptions to this if you have not instructed for us in the past. You must present your completed INSTRUCTOR TECH FORM to the tech inspector prior to event registration at the track. (Do not mail your Tech to the registrar.)
  • We Require equal passenger restraint (minimum 3 point).
  • Participants must be 18 yrs old or more and hold a valid Driver's License. This may be verified at registration at the track.
  • This is a driver's education school and is not practice for any racing or speed contest.
  • Cars must be muffled.
  • After-market window tinting / rear & side glass - you must be able to see through the vehicle while standing 20 feet away.
  • SUV's are not eligible.
  • Open Cars - We permit only Spec. Miata's or similar vehicles equipped with a full SCCA approved Roll Cage and a bolted on hardtop.

If you have questions about our Tech Inspection procedures, contact the Tech Chairman, Gene Schaeffer for details: techchair@delvalbmwcca.org
